Pescara

Pescara, the capital of and the most densely populated town in the region of Abruzzo, offers an inviting itinerary with unique landscapes and attractions. A visit to the town, reachable by bus with the Marino company, sets off from Gabriele D'Annunzio's house where you can admire his clothes, letters and documents relating to his life. The town is indissolubly linked to the name of the poet: the Theater inside the Pineta is named after him as is the Pineta itself. The route of the itinerary continues on towards the Cathedral of San Cetteo, Pescara Vecchia, Ponte del Mare, Porto Canale and the Trabocchi, which are wooden buildings on stilts used for fishing without the use of boats. The symbol of the town of Pescara is located on the seafront and is the fountain "La Nave" created by Pietro Cascella, entirely made of Carrara marble ; a rowboat was carved in the center of the monument to testify to the town's bond with the underwater world, strongly expressed also by the Museum of the Sea.
