One of the main cities in the province, together with Andria and Trani, Barletta is an Apulian city that boasts an important heritage. The heart of the old town is the Castle, one of the most beautiful Renaissance fortresses in Southern Italy. A few steps away is the Cathedral, one of the few examples of a palatine basilica in Puglia. The city of Barletta invites you to go back in time with a visit to the Cantina della Disfida, rediscovering the curiosities regarding the medieval battle of 1503 between thirteen Italian knights (under the Spanish aegis) and as many French knights.
