The \u201cPearl of the Ionian\u201d is located in the province of Lecce and is divided into two zones: the old town and the new town (the village), connected to the island through an impressive bridge in 17th century masonry. To welcome you to the old town is the Castello Angioino, which will introduce you into a maze of charming streets. Be prepared to visit the Cathedral of Sant\u2019Agata, a majestic example of Baroque style, noble palaces, and the hypogeum oil mill of Palazzo Granafei. Just outside the city, Gallipoli is, above all, sea and nature.
