Vicenza

A city in the Veneto region with one of the most important industrial and economic centers, Vicenza is one of the very few that are rich in styles, villas and art. In the streets of the center, you can admire a synthesis of architecture: from Romanesque to Renaissance, from Gothic to Baroque and to Neoclassical ; this city-museum was the birthplace of Andrea Palladio, one of the most important and influential architects in the Western world, who left many of his works here. Strolling around Vicenza is therefore literally to follow an artistic itinerary: from Corso Andrea Palladio to the Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunciata (in Piazza Duomo), from the Palladian Basilica (in the beautiful Piazza dei Signori) to the splendid Loggia del Capitaniato and from the famous Villa Almerico Capra (called La Rotonda) to the Olympic Theater ; everything was created by Palladio and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also not to be missed are the numerous churches and other villas in the area, to be seen during a trip through the surrounding hills and mountains.
